Stephany - Nutritional Scientist & Certified Nutrition Therapist
Stephany completed her Bachelor's degree in Ecotrophology at the 'Hamburg University of Applied Sciences' and subsequently completed her Master's degree in (Molecular) Nutrition Science at the 'Technical University of Munich', Germany.
At the 'Centre of Life and Food Sciences Weihenstephan', Stephany was involved in molecular research and the development of laboratory techniques in the field of nutrigenetics and dried-blood-spot (DBS) analysis. She completed her practical training in nutrition therapy at distinguished clinics in Germany, such as the 'Clinic for Allergology, Dermatology and Venerology - Charité' in Berlin and various departments at the 'Klinikum Rechts der Isar' in Munich, including the 'Pediatric Clinic Schwabing', the 'Clinic for Obesity and Clinical Nutrition Medicine' and the 'II. Clinic and Polyclinic' (Gastroenterology). Stephany's main focus was centered on food allergies and intolerances, gastrointestinal disorders and weight management, all of which shape her fields of expertise today.
Having had the opportunity to acquire knowledge from popular nutritional physicians and scientists in Germany through various internships, she developed a varied approach in nutrition counseling.
She also expanded her practical knowledge in hospital gastronomy at the 'St. Vincenz-Hospital Paderborn'. Stephany is a member of the 'German Professional Association for Ecotrophologists', and is a Certified Nutrition Therapist at the 'German Association for Certified Nutrition Therapists and Nutrition Counselors' . Certified Nutrition Therapists of Germany are legally recognized as part of the private and public health system. In Cyprus, Stephany has been collaborating with the 'Mediterranean Hospital of Cyprus' since July 2014, where she deals with enteral nutrition of inpatients who need to be fed through different routes such as percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) and nasogastric tube feeding (NG), as well as other complex cases such as acute kidney injury after cardiac surgery, malnutrition and cachexia, surgical resections such as partial pancreatectomy, partial colectomy or partial small bowel resection, etc. She also runs her private practice 'Nutrition Therapy Stephany Piper', offering private consultations for personalized nutrition for her clients and outpatients. Her collaboration with specialized physicians ensures for evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
